As a photographer, I am inspired by a variety of settings. Typically I photograph more natural places rather than city settings. However, my photography style focuses on perception and mindfulness. This series reflects on perception. Human perception is a lot different than what a camera lens will capture. Images can become a distorted viewpoint of what you actually see. It allows the ability to look at subjects differently, which ties in mindfulness. I moved away from nature in this photo series because I wanted to experiment with lights and capturing the mood of a quick moment. The city is dynamic: always changing; cars are not stationary and will not remain in their spot forever. I took these photos from the car while someone else was driving. It captures a fleeting moment that will be changing in a matter of seconds. My goal with my photos is to encourage people to realize that a single moment will never last. Everything is ephemeral: always changing throughout the world, and nothing will always remain the same.
